The Great Mince Pie Showdown at The Hand in Hand – Wimbledon

Stretchy trousers at the ready…The Hand in Hand in Wimbledon is bringing back its legendary mince pie eating competition. Taking on local champions – and the man in red himself – competitors will battle it out to see who can demolish the most pies, with a £50 bar tab and the ultimate bragging rights up for grabs. The pastry-fuelled showdown will be followed by a Christmas Jumper competition and a good old-fashioned carol sing-along to round off an evening of festive fun.

A Cockney Christmas Sing-along – West London Pubs

Tom Carradine brings a proper Christmas knees-up to six of Young’s Pubs across West London with a Cockney sing-along of East End favourites and festive classics. With Tom at the piano, merry pubgoers can join in on plenty of singing, dancing and mulled wine for a free evening of seasonal song. Pontcanna Peaks: Après-Ski Comes to Cardiff – Pontcanna Inn

This winter, Pontcanna Inn is bringing the mountains to Cardiff with Pontcanna Peaks, an après-ski garden takeover running until 31st December. Swap ski lifts for shot skis and the slopes for a seriously good night out, with retro ski vibes, DJs, twinkling lights, faux fur and plenty of Alpine mischief. Behind the bar, winter cocktails are ready to keep spirits high, while the Ski Hut menu serves up mountain-sized comfort food, from bubbling loaded Raclette Poutine Fries to The Raclette Burger and Alpine-inspired pizzas.
